This collaborative piece in collaboration with CHIKA was originally created for Phill Niblock Forever: A Marathon Memorial Celebration in Music, Images, Words, Movements... at Roulette Intermedium on October 5th, 2024. Manipulated the sound of Soran Bushi from Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost island. This traditional fisherman's song reflects the process of catching herring, from setting sail to pulling in nets and loading the catch. Its rhythmic beat mirrors the fishermen's hard work and is often accompanied by dances that imitate these actions.
Experimental Intermedia March 2025 Concert: Screen Compositions continues with its 21st edition, bringing a new collection of ever intriguing and enthralling intersections of moving image with sonic art; a program of screen works representing dynamic two-way collaborations between video/film artists and sound/music artists specifically intended for single-channel projection with no live or performance component.
