Curated by Katherine Liberovskaya as part of the Experimental Intermedia Festival, Screen Compositions highlights a program of screen works representing dynamic, two-way collaborations between video/film artists and sound/music artists. The presentation is specifically intended for single-channel projection and features no live performance component.
Included in this program is Dokkoisho (2024), a collaborative work by Hiromi Kiba and CHIKA that investigates rhythmic labor and endurance by deconstructing the traditional Hokkaido Soran Bushi fishing song, mapping its physical intensity into a framework of abstract, sound-reactive visuals and sonic tension.
