Stories of Water, Stories in Water

"Stories of Water, Stories in Water" is an art exhibition curated by Irene Wibawa and Manon Wada at the Rock Paper Scissors Collective Gallery in Oakland, California. The exhibition serves as a love letter to the bodies of water that connect us all, both physically and metaphorically, and permeate our planet and ourselves.

The show featured eight artists working in painting, etching, video, and sculpture. Central to the exhibition is the "Aqueous Memory Archive," a collaborative collection of water-related stories and memories contributed by 50 artists, writers, musicians, educators, and activists. Visitors are invited to engage with these contributions through a dedicated listening station.

By magnifying our attention to water through our shared experiences—ranging from minute details to a wider frame of view—the exhibition aims to conjure reverence and respect for the bodies of water that sustain all living beings on our planet.
